Basketball Recap: Pebble Hills Now 15-1 over Last 16 Games

It's playoff time, and Pebble Hills had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Midland Bulldogs 69-48 on Monday. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 385th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pebble Hills got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Krystal Talavera out in front who went 7 of 15 to rack up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Sapien, who posted five points in addition to 14 assists and three steals.

Pebble Hills was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Pebble Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Midland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 17-16 record this season.

Looking ahead, Pebble Hills will face off against North Crowley on Thursday. Pebble Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully North Crowley likes a good challenge. Midland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
