Piute entered their tilt with Altamont on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Longhorns. For the Thunderbirds, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Longhorns walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2024.

Piute had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-19.

Piute's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Altamont, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piute will challenge Bryce Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Altamont, they will venture away from home to challenge Union at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
