Otis and Genoa-Hugo/Karval are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Otis Bulldogs just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Otis has 13 straight victories, Genoa-Hugo/Karval has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

On Friday, Otis took their matchup with ease, bagging a 73-36 win over Flagler. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 27 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Genoa-Hugo/Karval lost 62-36 to Eads on Thursday.

Otis will have to keep a close watch on Ryker Lockhart and Tehgan Seymour, a pair of players who had a big impact on Genoa-Hugo/Karval's prior game. Lockhart posted nine points, while Seymour went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points and six rebounds. What's more, Seymour also posted a 42% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Isaiah Yoder also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Otis' victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.

Otis took their win against Genoa-Hugo/Karval in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 68-47. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Genoa-Hugo/Karval's Trey Smith, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 19 points along with five assists and five boards. Now that he won't be playing on Saturday, will it be easier for Otis to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
