League recap: Southcott dominating on the mound for Julian

Manzanita league recap: 5/30/13

Clint Southcott was the best pitcher in Manzanita this week, leading Julian. He won two games and struck out nine batters.

The Eagles outpaced the rest of the league this week, as their two total wins led the league. Julian beat Classical Academy 8-2 and Lutheran 6-4.

Borrego Springs's pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only six hits and five walks, both of which led the league.

The league boasted four .400 hitters over the past week. The group was paced by Leif Gonzales-Kramer, who collected two hits in three at bats for a .667 average.



The week's strikeout crown belonged to Southcott, who turned in nine Ks for the Eagles. With 39 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks fourth in the league.
