The Lakeland Lakers will square off against the Heritage Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Lakeland is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Churubusco 21-3 on Tuesday. Considering the Lakers have won four contests by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lakeland got a massive performance out of Garrett Pieri, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Pieri a new career-high. Levi Cook was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Lakeland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Heritage came out on top against Norwell on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Knights.
Elijah Rauner was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
Rauner wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Iestyn Roe, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another was Lucas Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Lakeland's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Heritage, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Lakeland has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. However, it's not like Heritage struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3 hits.
