Basketball Recap: Fletcher Comes Up Short at Home Against Andrew Jackson

Fletcher unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 35-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Andrew Jackson Tigers on Monday. If the Senators were looking for revenge after losing 45-36 to the Tigers when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Senators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brylee Rains, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Maria Lopes, who scored eight points and nine boards.

Leading Andrew Jackson to victory were Madison Holmes-Price and Jordan Ferguson. Holmes-Price put up eight points, while Ferguson earned seven points. Those seven points gave Ferguson a new career-high.

Coming up, Fletcher will head out to challenge Bartram Trail at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Andrew Jackson, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-12 victory against Riverside on the 18th.
