Leon had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game with ease, bagging a 68-37 victory over the St. John Paul II Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Leon to victory were Elijah Knight and Keon Green. Knight went 8-for-18 to rack up 20 points and seven boards, while Green shot 54% from the field on his way to 15 points and six rebounds. DeKendrick Williams was another key player, putting up seven points.

Leon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. John Paul II only pulled down five.

St. John Paul II's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cruz Fontenot, who posted 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Carter, who had 12 points.

Leon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 68-55 win against Brookwood on the 20th. As for St. John Paul II, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-49 victory against Wakulla on the 20th.
