Basketball Game Preview: Refugio Bobcats vs. Kaufer Seahawks

The Refugio Bobcats will challenge the Kaufer Seahawks at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Refugio strolled past Three Rivers with points to spare, taking the game 50-33. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Kaufer and Ben Bolt had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Seahawks took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 48-10 victory over the Badgers. The Seahawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Kaufer's win came from a few key players that Refugio will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was ZARIAH GONZALEZ, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 15 points in addition to five assists and five steals. GONZALEZ is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. JAYMIE TEN-CATE was another key player, shooting 40% from the field on her way to 16 points.

Kaufer's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Refugio, their victory bumped their record up to 23-9.

Refugio strolled past Kaufer in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 48-33. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Seahawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
