Preview: Vero Beach Indians vs. St. Edward's Pirates
The Vero Beach Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Edward's Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vero Beach has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Vero Beach didn't have too much trouble with Sebastian River on the road as they won 58-44.
Vero Beach's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emmanuel Guirand, who scored ten points along with five assists and four steals. Guirand is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremia Sanders, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, St. Edward's had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They snuck past Boca Raton Christian with a 50-45 victory. That's two games straight that St. Edward's has won by exactly five points.
Vero Beach has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. As for St. Edward's, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
