Football Game Preview: Saginaw Rough Riders vs. South Hills Scorpions

The Saginaw Rough Riders will face off against the South Hills Scorpions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

South Hills will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Saginaw extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Rough Riders claimed a resounding 45-0 win over North Side. The result was nothing new for the Rough Riders, who have now won three matchups by 34 points or more so far this season.

Saginaw relied on the efforts of Joshua Greek, who threw for 181 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes, and Elijah Irvin, who rushed for 78 yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave Greek a new career-high in passer rating (151.4).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Hills). They were the clear victors by a 42-19 margin over Polytechnic on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Scorpions considering their six-point performance the game before.

Saginaw's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for South Hills, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
