Softball Recap: Indiana School for the Deaf Finds Playoff Glory Versus Liberty Christian

With a playoff win on the line, Indiana School for the Deaf rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Liberty Christian Lions by a score of 12-8. Winning may never get old, but the Deaf Hoosiers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Madison Dray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and six unearned) runs off three hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tiana Starayev, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Jaiden Moses was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Indiana School for the Deaf kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Christian only managed six hits.

Indiana School for the Deaf's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Liberty Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Indiana School for the Deaf nor Liberty Christian have any future games scheduled.
