Baseball Game Preview: Bath County Chargers vs. Pocahontas County Warriors

The Bath County Chargers are taking a road trip to take on the Pocahontas County Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Bath County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Eastern Montgomery, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Chargers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 12-2 victory on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

I Ingram was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. O Perdue was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Pocahontas County was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 14-10 to Highland.

RT Hill stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Devon Burgess, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Bath County's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Pocahontas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Bath County suffered a grim 19-2 defeat to Pocahontas County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
