Softball Recap: Lawrenceville Takes a Loss

Lawrenceville fell victim to Newton and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Indians have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Allison Evans spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, Lawrenceville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erin Harris, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Harris is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Lawrenceville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Newton, they pushed their record up to 18-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Lawrenceville will square off against Dugger Union at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newton, they will face off against Robinson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
