Soccer Game Preview: Lithia Springs vs. Sandy Creek

The Lithia Springs Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Sandy Creek Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lithia Springs' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Lithia Springs took a three-goal defeat the last time they faced off against New Manchester, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions' defense stepped up to hand the Jaguar a 1-0 shutout last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Sandy Creek entered their tilt with Griffin last Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bears. Sandy Creek might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by three goals or more this season.

They hit Griffin with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Natalie Winfrey (5), Kelsie Henton (4), and Lauryn Godfrey (2).

Sandy Creek pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 52 goals over those eight games. As for Lithia Springs, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.
