Fletcher is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will welcome the Nease Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Fletcher will be strutting in after a victory while Nease will be coming in after a loss.
Fletcher took an eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Bartram Trail, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Senators had just enough and edged out the Bears 7-5. Seven seems to be a good number for the Senators as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Emily (MeMe) Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Tiffany Semack was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. Isabella Daria was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Nease didn't have quite enough to beat Oakleaf on Wednesday and fell 4-3. The Panthers have struggled against the Knights recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Kyleigh Rivera made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alanna Doherty, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Fletcher has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.0 runs this season. As for Nease, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Fletcher came out on top in a nail-biter against Nease when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 7-6. Do the Senators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
