Basketball Recap: The Ambrose School Comes Up Short

The Ambrose School and Declo squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but The Ambrose School had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Declo Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Archers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 52nd, while the Hornets are ranked ninth).

Despite the loss, The Ambrose School still got an impressive performance from Tristen Trevino, who posted 24 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mark Yenor, who made all 5 shots he took to post 10 points.

The Ambrose School's defeat dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Declo, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-1.

The Ambrose School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-58 loss against Firth on the 8th. As for Declo, they have also already played their next match, a 53-50 defeat against Wendell on the 8th.
