Basketball Recap: Krishna Persaud's Big Game Can't Quite Lead E.L. Haynes over DC International

E.L. Haynes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 62-41 to the DC International Dragons. If E.L. Haynes was looking for revenge after losing 63-46 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

E.L. Haynes lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Krishna Persaud, who posted ten points. The dominant performance gave Persaud a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Hamilton, who earned ten points.

Jhalil Route was a one-man wrecking crew for DC International as he went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Route is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Gavin Moore was another key player, putting up seven points along with five assists and five steals.

E.L. Haynes' loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for DC International, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 3-6 record this season.

E.L. Haynes didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-32 win against Capital City Public Charter School on the 17th. As for DC International, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 72-51 victory against BASIS on the 17th.
