Recap: Southeast Cyclones vs. Encampment Tigers
While the Southeast Cyclones couldn't quite beat the Encampment Tigers on Friday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 31-point loss they were dealt last Saturday. Southeast fell just short of Encampment by a score of 54-52. Southeast was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Encampment apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Southeast's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayden Desmond, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was TJ Moats, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and eight blocks.
Southeast's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Encampment, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Southeast will head out on the road to challenge Lingle-Fort Laramie at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lingle-Fort Laramie is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 11 games. As for Encampment, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Rock River at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Rock River is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
