Basketball Recap: Eastern Guilford Comes Up Short

Eastern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles and fell 93-53. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 517th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 27th).

Eastern Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Ben L. Smith, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Guilford will face off against Northeast Guilford at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ben L. Smith, they will head out to square off against Atkins at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
