Volleyball Game Preview: Sturgeon Bay Clippers vs. Sevastopol Pioneers

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers will venture away from home to challenge the Sevastopol Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sturgeon Bay saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oconto. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Despite the defeat, Sturgeon Bay saw an underclassman step up: freshman Makenna Coyhis had four digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, Sevastopol earned a 3-1 win over Algoma on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pioneers.

Sevastopol was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 19-25, 25-21.

Sevastopol's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Sturgeon Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 10-25.

Sturgeon Bay was able to grind out a solid win over Sevastopol in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Clippers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
