Basketball Recap: Gaston Day Sets Scoring Season-High Against Carolina Day

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gaston Day). They strolled past the Carolina Day Wildcats with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 84-66. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2017.

Gaston Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Griffen Simpson, who shot 73% from the field en route to 26 points. Those 26 points gave Simpson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dyson Britt, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 17 points.

Gaston Day's record now sits at 6-3. As for Carolina Day, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Gaston Day and Carolina Day will both be playing Hickory Grove Christian the next time they take the court. The Wildcats will head out to face the Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Spartans will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
