Basketball Recap: Chaminade-Madonna Takes a Loss

Chaminade-Madonna saw some tournament action on Friday. They came up short against the Mater Academy Charter Lions, falling 42-18. The contest marked Chaminade-Madonna's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mater Academy Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Halle Jordan, who made all 5 shots she took racking up 10 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Avila, who posted ten points and six steals.

Chaminade-Madonna's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Mater Academy Charter, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

The future could be bright for both Chaminade-Madonna and Mater Academy Charter: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Chaminade-Madonna will try to hand Cardinal Gibbons their third-straight loss when the two meet at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Mater Academy Charter will try to hand Cooper City their fifth-straight defeat when the two meet at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
