Softball Recap: Racine Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Martin Luther

While Racine Lutheran put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Martin Luther. The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Spartans. For the Crusaders, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Iyana Garza made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Garza was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Racine Lutheran got a massive performance out of Alexis Kiedrowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave Kiedrowski a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emilie Lozano Weaver, who went 2-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Racine Lutheran now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Martin Luther, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Racine Lutheran will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
