Preview: Kossuth Aggies vs. East Webster Wolverines
Kossuth has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the East Webster Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Kossuth rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against Yazoo County by a score of 21-8.
Meanwhile, East Webster came tearing into Friday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 36-28 victory over Rosa Fort.
East Webster's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaleb Warnock, who rushed for 45 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns. East Webster also got a significant boost from Dee Bingham, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
Kossuth's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33.92 points. As for East Webster, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
