Volleyball Game Preview: Highlands Ranch Falcons vs. Regis Jesuit Raiders

Highlands Ranch and Regis Jesuit are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Falcons will head out to square off against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Highlands Ranch was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Heritage 3-2.

Highlands Ranch took Heritage into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Highlands Ranch found their leader in sophomore Maggie Weiss, who had 19 digs. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Weiss. Alice Weiss also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Regis Jesuit, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Ponderosa on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Raiders not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 30th (when they won 3-0).

Regis Jesuit never let Ponderosa on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 27-25, 25-17.

Highlands Ranch's record now sits at 4-12. As for Regis Jesuit, their record is now 4-10.

Highlands Ranch suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Regis Jesuit in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
