Volleyball Recap: Thornwell Saints vs. Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Whitmire, Thornwell was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes. The Saints have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Blue Flashes, too.

One reason for the win was Thornwell's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-18, 25-13.

Thornwell can attribute much of their success to Janessa Centeno, who had five aces, four digs, and two kills. Another player making a difference was Madi Porter, who had seven digs and two kills.

Thornwell was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 18 consecutive matches.
