Basketball Recap: Bruton Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Bruton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 60-51 victory over the Mathews Blue Devils on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Isaiah Randall went supernova for Bruton, going 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Johnathan Hopkins, who posted ten points.

The victory got Bruton back to even at 4-4. As for Mathews, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Bruton and York will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Mathews, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Middlesex at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2025.
