Recap: North Schuylkill Spartans vs. Palmerton Blue Bombers
After a string of three wins, the North Schuylkill Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 32-24 to Palmerton. North Schuylkill lost against Palmerton in their previous head to head back in October, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 48-24 score last time.
Palmerton was led to victory by Matthew Machalik and Ty Sander. Machalik rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns, while Sander gained 156 total yards and two touchdowns. Machalik is absolutely dominating the rushing touchdown category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the field this season.
North Schuylkill's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Palmerton, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
North Schuylkill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palmerton will take on Northwestern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Northwestern Lehigh's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last nine games.
