Baseball Recap: Delta Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pierce last Thursday, Delta came back down to earth. Delta fell 4-1 to the Buckingham Charter Knights on Saturday. The Saints were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Knights earlier this season, when they won 7-6.

Delta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Friend, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Max Danila also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Delta has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Buckingham Charter and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Coming up, Delta will be playing in front of their home fans against Esparto at 4:00 p.m. on April 7. As for Buckingham Charter, they will challenge Foresthill at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
