Volleyball Game Preview: Grantsville Cowboys vs. Juab Wasps

After both having extra time off, the Grantsville Cowboys and the Juab Wasps will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grantsville not only won last Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0). They put the hurt on Ben Lomond with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Grantsville was: they took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-4, 25-11, 25-8.

Grantsville found their leader in sophomore Luiza Lupiao, who had six digs and three aces.

Grantsville was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Juab posted their closest victory since August 24, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Uintah 3-2.

Grantsville's record now sits at 13-15. As for Juab, their record is now 11-12.

Grantsville came up short against Juab in their previous meeting back in September of 2021, falling 3-1. Can the Cowboys avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
