Football Recap: Sparta Academy Comes Up Short

Sparta Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Patrician Academy Saints, falling 49-8. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.

Ethan Carr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Patrician Academy, rushing for 170 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Carr's longest rush was for an impressive 54 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Ridge Russell was in the mix as well, providing Patrician Academy with two TDs.

Sparta Academy suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Patrician Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Sparta Academy will head out to face off against Hooper Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Colts' rather soft defense (which has allowed 42.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Patrician Academy, they will welcome Banks Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
