Basketball Game Preview: Elkhorn North vs. Pender Pendragons

Elkhorn North will challenge the Pender Pendragons at 9:00 p.m. on Friday.

Elkhorn North is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 60 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Pius X on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Thunderbolts and fell 62-21. The matchup marked Elkhorn North's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Pender put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Wisner-Pilger 67-45. Given the Pendragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Gators are ranked 114th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pender pushed their record up to 17-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Elkhorn North, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
