Baseball Recap: South Stokes Comes Up Short

South Stokes lost against North Stokes two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sauras fell 11-8 to the Vikings.

Xander Martin was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of South Stokes' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 3-1 (and 7-13 when he doesn't). Ryan Duggins was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

South Stokes has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for North Stokes, they pushed their record up to 18-7 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coincidentally, South Stokes and North Stokes will both be playing East Wilkes the next time they take the field. The Vikings will head out to face the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Sauras will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
