Basketball Game Preview: Bloomingdale Bulls vs. Tocoi Creek Toros

After both having extra time off, the Bloomingdale Bulls and the Tocoi Creek Toros will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bloomingdale's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 matchups.

Bloomingdale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Friday. They were the clear victor by a 73-51 margin over Horizon. The Bulls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bloomingdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izellah Kendrick, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards. That's the most rebounds Kendrick has posted since back in January of 2024. Noelle Mengel was another key player, shooting 71% from the field to rack up 14 points and six steals.

Meanwhile, Tocoi Creek came tearing into last Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 53-47 W against the Eagles. That's two games straight that the Toros have won by exactly six points.

Tocoi Creek's win came from a few key players Bloomingdale will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gabi Iturralde, who went 5-for-12 on her way to 19 points and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Beyer, who scored 14 points and seven boards.

Tocoi Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They are 17-1 when they've passed the ball that well.

Bloomingdale is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points over those games. Tocoi Creek's record is now 20-7.
