Jackson-Reed waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They breezed by the Banneker Bulldogs to the tune of 60-29. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Jackson-Reed's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pete Newman led the charge by going 6 of 13 to rack up 16 points and six assists. Newman's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Diego Joy was another key player, going 6 for 15 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Jackson-Reed smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Jackson-Reed pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.6 points. As for Banneker, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Jackson-Reed didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-50 win against McKinley Tech on the 5th. As for Banneker, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 73-45 loss against Coolidge on the 5th.
