Basketball Game Preview: Southside Tigers vs. Pickens Blue Flame

The Southside Tigers just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Pickens Blue Flame at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pickens took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Southside, who comes in off a win.

Southside will head into Tuesday's contest hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 28) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Berea 41-38.

Meanwhile, Pickens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Asheville School (Independent) 86-24. While losing is never fun, the Blue Flame can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 116th in South Carolina, while the Blues are ranked 13th in North Carolina).

Pickens now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Southside, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Southside came up short against Pickens in their previous matchup back in December of 2018, falling 53-46. Can Southside avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
