Softball Recap: Oak Hill Has No Trouble Against Madison

Oak Hill lost to Madison back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Raiders put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-5 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raiders.

Izzy Whitaker made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Whitaker was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Sydney Wood was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Olivia French, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs.

The victory got Oak Hill back to even at 6-6. As for Madison, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Looking ahead, Oak Hill will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison, they will venture away from home to square off against Mount Abram at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
