Recap: Maranatha Christian Eagles vs. Canyon Crest Academy Ravens
The Maranatha Christian Eagles struggled with threes on Friday (the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens had 600% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Maranatha Christian took a hard 59-41 fall against Canyon Crest Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Maranatha Christian in their matchups with Canyon Crest Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Maranatha Christian saw an underclassman step up: Zeke Walker scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. The contest was Walker's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Shane Piester was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canyon Crest Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Park, who scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Jacques Godard, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds.
Maranatha Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maranatha Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ramona at 7:00 p.m. on December 4th. Hopefully Ramona focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday. As for Canyon Crest Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against San Pasqual at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Pasqual will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 989th, while Canyon Crest Academy is ranked 475th).
