Basketball Game Preview: Bard Falcons vs. Coolidge Colts

Bard is 0-3 against Coolidge since January of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Bard Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Coolidge Colts at 5:30 p.m. Bard has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Bard is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a hard 40-22 fall against Woodson back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Coolidge faced Woodson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Coolidge really took it to Woodson for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-9 victory. The Colts have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 29 points or more this season.

Bard better keep an eye on Josslyn Derricott. She was instrumental in Coolidge's win, putting up 21 points along with six boards and four blocks. The matchup was Derricott's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshea Fisher, who posted eight points and five assists.

Coolidge was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win (which was Coolidge's fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points per game. As for Bard, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Bard was dealt a bruising 67-4 defeat at the hands of Coolidge when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Bard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
