Recap: Atlanta Area School for the Deaf Panthers vs. Cottage Cougars
This season hasn't been kind to the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf Panthers, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They suffered a rough 46-20 defeat at the hands of Cottage on Tuesday. Atlanta Area School for the Deaf has struggled against the Cougars recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Cottage's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Finley Love, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Love is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Gabby Pressnall, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals.
Atlanta Area School for the Deaf dropped their record down to 0-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.7 points per game. As for Cottage, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-6.
Coincidentally, Atlanta Area School for the Deaf and the Cougars will both be playing the Hawks the next time they take the court. Atlanta Area School for the Deaf will host the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Cougars will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
