Baseball Game Preview: Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons vs. Bonita Springs Bullsharks

The Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons will face off against the Bonita Springs Bullsharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Charlotte 3.3, Bonita Springs 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Charlotte is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering IMG Academy Royal just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ascenders.

Charlotte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Klossner, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Bonita Springs posted their closest win since March 4th on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Riverview Sarasota 4-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bullsharks.

Daniel Hood looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Angel Moreno, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Jacob Estrada was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Bonita Springs' victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Charlotte, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Charlotte has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bonita Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts.
