Softball Recap: Fort Mill Takes a Loss

Fort Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indian Land Warriors. The Yellow Jackets were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Emily Poteat was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

Poteat wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fort Mill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indian Land only managed six hits.

Fort Mill now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Indian Land, they now have a winning record of 5-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Fort Mill will challenge rival Nation Ford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Indian Land is set to take on their familiar foe Rock Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
