Basketball Recap: Jayden Alcine's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Somerset Academy over NSU University

Somerset Academy suffered their closest loss since December 14, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the NSU University Sharks by a score of 67-64. The Panthers have struggled against the Sharks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Somerset Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Alcine, who went 9 for 18 en route to 24 points and three steals. That's the most points Alcine has posted since back in January of 2024. Christian Smith was another key player, putting up 15 points and eight rebounds.
