Softball Game Preview: Freedom Falcons vs. Whitney Wildcats

The Freedom Falcons will be taking part in a tournament against the Whitney Wildcats at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Falcons on Thursday. Freedom fell 6-1 to College Park. Freedom has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ruby Cuen Camacho was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one double. That triple was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Whitney has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.63 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They came up short against Del Oro, falling 13-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered against the Golden Eagles since April 1, 2022.

Whitney saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rebecca Rau, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Whitney's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
