Broadwater Academy will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating Isle of Wight Academy, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Broadwater Academy walked away with a 38-31 victory over Isle of Wight Academy on Friday. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 186th, while the Chargers are ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kacey Ford and Leah Smith were among the main playmakers for Broadwater Academy as the former went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points and five steals and the latter went 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points along with six boards and three steals. That's the most steals Ford has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrianna Holloway, who posted six points.
Meanwhile, Greenbrier Christian Academy entered their tilt with Atlantic Shores Christian on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They secured a 38-34 W over the Seahawks.
Broadwater Academy better focus on containing Bayleigh Kaliher and Katelyn Balka as the pair were huge in Greenbrier Christian Academy's win. Kaliher almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine steals, while Balka almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Balka is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Livia Smith was another key player, putting up five points in addition to seven boards and six steals.
Greenbrier Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.
Greenbrier Christian Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points per game. As for Broadwater Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Broadwater Academy has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Greenbrier Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.4 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
