Basketball Recap: Deer Park Comes Up Short

After flying high against Finneytown last Wednesday, Deer Park came back down to earth. The Wildcats took a blow against the Madeira Mustangs/Amazons on Wednesday, falling 56-18. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 636th, while the Mustangs/Amazons are ranked 81st).

Deer Park has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Madeira, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Deer Park is set to take on their familiar foe Mariemont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Madeira will square off against rival Wyoming at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
