Recap: Grayson County Blue Devils vs. Auburn Eagles
The Grayson County Blue Devils lost against the Auburn Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Grayson County was dealt a 59-32 defeat at the hands of Auburn. Grayson County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Grayson County saw an underclassman step up: Zach Weatherman scored eight points along with six rebounds. Maverik Goad was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Grayson County has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Auburn, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Grayson County will head out on the road to face off against George Wythe at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in George Wythe's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Auburn, they will face off against Roanoke Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Roanoke Catholic has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 29.
