Football Recap: Wellsville Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jeron Jackson and Ethan Morris

Wellsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 41-20 to the Southern Indians. On the bright side, the 20- point effort marked the Tigers' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Wellsville's loss came despite strong showings from Ethan Morris and Jeron Jackson. Morris picked up 118 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Jackson threw for 115 yards and two TDs. Morris showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 63 yards.

Wellsville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Southern, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Wellsville will square off against Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 20th. As for Southern, they will host East Palestine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
