Baseball Game Preview: Bonsall Legionnaires vs. Army-Navy Warriors

The Bonsall Legionnaires will venture away from home to challenge the Army-Navy Warriors at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Bonsall came up short against Ocean View Christian on Thursday, falling 9-1.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Army-Navy ultimately got the result they hoped for on March 5th. They blew past Crawford 17-6. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

Ashton Little was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Palmer Free and Mario Riquer did most of the damage at the plate: Free scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Riquer scored three runs while going 3-for-5. What's more, Free posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Lincoln Brunson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bonsall now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Army-Navy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Bonsall suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Army-Navy in their previous matchup back in March of 2022. Can Bonsall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
