Buhach Colony moved up to 65 from 97 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Central California. The Thunder were able to make the jump by defeating Merced 42-21.
Buhach Colony led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Bears. Stefon Gold ran for 148 yards in the win.
Merced's Eli Gutierrez and Bradley Adamson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gutierrez has thrown for 1162 yards this season, while Adamson, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 25 catches for 482 yards. Kevin Swartwood's team's Gold leads the league in rushing yards with 590.
A big matchup in Central California this week will be when Rob Scheidt's team takes on Pitman. As it stands, the Bears are in fifth, while the Pride are in first.
